Policy

How this works.

Source hierarchy

Issuing bodies, regulators and public statistical sources lead on their own publications. We use secondary reporting only with a clear citation and check a primary record when the claim is material.

Record fields

A source-linked item should retain the origin URL, publisher, publication or retrieval date when known, topic, review status and source health. Duplicate feed links are collapsed by canonical URL. A feed error does not erase the last verified release.

Editorial boundary

Automation can collect metadata and identify candidates. A substantive “what happened” or “why it matters” brief requires human review. Absence of a current source item is not evidence that nothing changed.
